Default Florida is investing $250 million in technology and science companies

TALLAHASSEE - Florida is investing $250 million in technology and science companies based in the Sunshine State, a move supporters say will solidify the state's place in the cutting-edge economy.

The Florida Growth Fund, managed by Philadelphia-based Hamilton Lane, a private equity giant, has begun doling out money from the state pension fund, which will be invested in the technology, aerospace and science sectors in Florida.
